Friday, Oct. 13 at The Hi-Fi in Fountain Square, Indianapolis, Indiana local rock band Great Scott! will come back for a one night, 15-year reunion show. Playing with them at The Hi-Fi will are Oferle and Matt Record.
Back in the day, and well before my time, it was hard to find a Thursday night in Broad Ripple without Great Scott! performing at one of the local venues. Their shows historically included stiff drinks and rocking after-parties. Don’t miss what could be your last opportunity to see Great Scott! play this Friday. You can listen to Great Scott by visiting their Facebook page.
Oferle is a musical trio based out of Fort Wayne, Indiana. What first began as a brother and sister duo with members Annette Oferle and Luke Offerle, was transformed into a full-fledged family band with the addition of their cousin, Jonah Baker. Throughout their career, Oferle has supported national acts like The Jonas Brothers, Clayton Anderson, The Main Squeeze, and more. The family band plays a mix of modern country and pop, mixing acoustic with modern pop influences. Their latest singles, “Nights Like This” and “Ghost of You,” are available on iTunes and Spotify now. To find out more about the Indiana family band Oferle, you can visit their website.
Kicking the show off on Friday night as the opening act will be local Indianapolis solo musician, Matt Record. In his music, Record incorporates a wide variety of styles ranging from old school country and bluegrass, to psychedelic funk, soul, and blues-rock. He was also previously a member of the Los Angeles-based band The Magnets, as well as the group Kickbush in Chicago. Currently, Record plays live shows in venues across the greater Indianapolis area and beyond. You can learn more about Matt Record by visiting his website.
The show on Friday night at The Hi-Fi begins at 9:00 pm, and the doors open at 8:00 pm. Tickets to the show are $15 at the door.
