Keith Urban was without a doubt the ultimate winner at last week’s CMT music awards. In total, the star brought home four big prizes, the most awarded to any artist that night. Urban shared the Collaborative Video of the Year award with Carrie Underwood, but also won three solo awards: Video of the Year, Male Video of the Year and Social Superstar of the Year.
Naturally, he was ecstatic to win the awards, but wound up giving a lot of the credit to his wife, Nicole Kidman. During his acceptance speech, he had this to say:
I want to say a massive thank you to my wife, Nicole Mary because you have no idea how much of what I do she’s involved in every little piece of it. And especially the videos and helping me…she hates me saying this…but I want it to be said because she helps me so much make these videos what they are.
Urban also mentioned the couple’s two kids in his speech, who were at home watching the festivities. Throughout the night, the couple exchanged a lot of cute glances, kisses, whispers and dance to close out the night.
Naturally, Urban wasn’t the only one to take home big prizes that evening. Lauren Alaina took home the Breakout Video of the Year Award, and Little Big Town brought home the Group Video of the Year for “Better Man.” You can check out the full list of winners, here.
This year, Charles Esten hosted the Nashville-based CMT Awards. Some of the presenters included Hoda Kotb, Jada Pinkett Smith, Reva McEntire and many other famous faces. There were also a lot of great performances, including Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood’s performance of their winning song. All in all, fans and country stars alike seemed to enjoy the festivities quite a bit throughout the night.
