Carrie Underwood had a scary night on Friday. While leaving her home, she had a nasty fall and wound up needing to go to the hospital. Luckily, the country singer is all right and at home recovering. But, she did manage to break her wrist and get a few cuts and bruises in the fall.
On Sunday, the singer was already back on social media thanking her fans for their thoughts and concerns. She also informed them that her husband was at home taking care of her.
“Thanks so much for all the well wishes everybody…” she tweeted. “I’ll be alright…might just take some time…glad I’ve got the best hubby in the world to take care of me.”
Later she tweeted out that she was at home and recovering, but did need to have surgery to repair the damage from her fall.
I just wanted let everyone know that I’m doing great. Had surgery on my wrist yesterday & all went well…even though I’ll be setting off airport metal detectors from now on…I’m so thankful for the doctors, nurses, family & friends who’ve been taking such great care of me.

Sadly, Underwood missed her performance at the Country Rising Concert on Sunday night due to the injury. Luckily, there were a lot more country singers to step up and make the show a phenomenal one.
According to Taste of Country, George Strait, Jason Aldean, Sam Hunt, Dierks Bentley, Chris Stapleton, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire and Keith Urban all performed at the concert. The goal was to raise money for hurricane victims as well as those affected by the mass shooting in Las Vegas and Texas.
Underwood was also scheduled to appear at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Thursday, but will even have to miss that appearance due to her injury. Unfortunately, one of the rules the Oklahoma Hall of Fame has is that all inductees must be present to accept their award, which means Underwood won’t be accepted into the organization at this time. But, the Hall of Fame does say that she will be considered as part of another class.
Underwood will have plenty of time to recover from her injuries. Currently, she just has one date on her tour schedule, Dec 9. She plans to appear at the Opry at the Ryman on that night, and it looks like she will have two shows.
It’s been awhile since we’ve heard any new music from Underwood. Her last album came out in 2015 after she hadn’t had a new album in three years. Hopefully, with this trend, we will see more music out of the country music singer soon.
