Next Monday, February 19th, Flat 12 Bierwerks will be presenting a live concert at the Square Cat Vinyl, open to audiences of all ages. The headlining act is Wild Pink, a touring indie band from New York. Playing with Wild Pink will be Adam Torres, a singer and songwriter from Austin, Texas.
Wild Pink got their start in 2015, with the release of their debut EP, “Good Life”. Since its release, the band has maintained a steady stream of output. 2016 saw another EP release, titled, “4 Songs”, while in 2017, Wild Pink released their first full length album. 2017 was a big year for Wild Pink, as they also released the acoustic single, “Albert Ross”.
Pitchfork gave the self-titled album “Wild Pink” a 7.3 rating last year. In their review, they mention the timeliness of lead singer John Ross, and how it relates to feelings of insecurity in these turbulent political times.
“…Ross sounds like so many people whose nebulous concerns about the future have been sharpened. Wild Pink may not be a generation’s bonfire, but it now sounds like the slow burn leading up to it”.
Austin, Texas native Adam Torres released his full length, debut album “Pearls to Swine” in 2016. Just last year, he came out with his second release, an EP titled “I Came to Sing the Song”.
Torres’ appearance in Indianapolis will come just a few weeks after his tour of Europe. After playing in the lands of France, Iceland, and Belgium, he’ll be standing in Fountain Square at the Square Cat Vinyl.
The show with Wild Pink at the Square Cat Vinyl starts at 8:00 pm on Monday, February 19th. Doors open at 7:00 pm, and an eight dollar cover will get you in the door.
